Close up of the slightly tan and speckled Club Scrap Scholarship Kit cardstock that I used for this project. |
I am making a card for my son who will be 17 in a few weeks. Needed something masculine so I purchased the Cricut Imagine JT cartridge. I have a variety of white, tan, cream, beige, and other light or plain white heavy cardstocks from Club Scrap that I choose from when using my Imagine.
For this card I first used the Blackletter cartridge on my Gypsy to make the card. I had to weld the blackout and shadow pieces of the shield.
Just a note *When you use the G to alter images you can't open them in the Imagine function on the G*.
Printed an 8x6 area to cut the card from. |
To get the pattern that I wanted on the welded cut, I had to print a small area on the cardstock first then cut it on the Cricut E2.
Card base cut out of Imagine printed rectangle. |
Turned the mat around and printed and cut the top layer of the shied and the blackout. Everything cut at 5" relative, If I had it to do over I would do 5.5" or 6". |
My next step was to print & cut the "dude" on the Imagine, twice. Then just layering it all together with Club Scrap glue. (best value ever in scrapbooking adhesives) I used some small pieces of foam tape the make the second "dude" cut stand out a little. I'm going to add the Happy Birthday sentiment inside the card.
Comments are always welcome! I'm thinking this card needs something else, just haven't figured out what yet :)
