Too young to shovel snow?

DD Elizabeth, 22 months old, "helping" me shovel snow! She was so proud of herself for moving the snow around with that shovel.

Tuesday's Tutorial is coming soon! Been busy today, got a few inches of snow last night!

Flood in Findlay

The rain started Monday night and kept going on and off through Tuesday night and we had a total of 9 inches in 48 hours. The Blanchard river thought that was too much and rose to between 17 and 18 feet. Flood stage is 11 feet. We live about 800 feet from the Blanchard River and supposedly out of the FEMA stated flood zones. Our neighbor who has lived on the end of our street (farthest from the river) for 30 years said she had only once seen the water come halfway up the street. Today it came up to our driveway. We are 3 houses from the far end of the street.
This picutre is from the "dry" end of our street. On the right is Tim's red truck.

This is the view of our house from across the river, um I meant street.

This is on our street, a little closer to the river. The gaurdrail at the end is usually where the next cross street is and that street runs along the river. There is a good 5 foot drop from the gaurdrail to the river, usually. Don't know how many people stayed in the homes down there as it was too deep to drive or walk through to see who was still there. I know some of them brought their cars to the dry end of our road.

This is the neighborhood across the main road from us. The dry end of our street goes to the main road and that road is dry where we are, but is flooded further into town.

The green rectangle in the bottom left side of this picture is a picnic table that usually has grass, a grill and parking lot around it. It is right by the river.

Last day of school

Today was the last day of school for the '60-'07 school year. The kids were in good spirits, lol. We had school mass , lunch on the lawn ,and then took the kids home. It was terrible hot today, but there was a great wind and eventually a storm that cooled everything down. We left to go home shortly before the rain. Ah, the lovely faces of a 13 y.o. boy. I just wanted a pic to commemorate the last day of school. I had left my camera in a pew after mass and then spent most of the lunch time looking through the diaper bag for it. When I did get the camera back we were leaving and this was the best pic I could get of Nate before my battery died. I'm glad it's a pic that will always make me smile :)Kayla and Elizabeth gave me great smiles for this last day of school shot. Check out those rosey red cheeks. A testament to how warm a day it was.

Happy Birthday to Nate and Elizabeth

Nate and his friend Devoun playing video games at the movie theatre where we had his 13th birthday party. We had cookie cake, pizza, soda, popcorn and candy!!!! Whoa!
BTW, Kayla took all of these snapshots. I love her point of view. It's a fresh perspective compared to my "everyone look at the camera" shots.

Ok, so I just figured out how to do photo collage! But they are awesome looking and I get to show alot more of the great photo shots we have. You can click on the pics for a closer look. Elizabeth had a great time at her 1st birthday. Tons of people to pay attention to her, new toys, new clothes and sweets! She was saying "wow, wow" at all of the clothes as we pulled them out of the gift bags to show her :) HOw fun to have a baby again.

Just some more pics of the boys at Nate's birthday party!

And the infamous first cake pictures. At first Elizabeth threw her cupcake on the floor. I had to put a taste of the frosting on my finger and make her taste it. Then she proceeded to eat and make a mess .

Some more of my recently favorite pics of the kids:

Nate hanging in the tree in our front yard of the new house. Nate and Kayla both enjoy climbing this tree. The lower branches are at just the right height for them to get a hold of.

This awesome pic of Kayla was taken by a friend, Julie Twining at a Cinco de Mayo party! Julie is starting her own portrait studio in her home and asked Kayla to model for her portfolio :)
LOL, I gave Elizabeth a cookie that was about 1 inch diameter and with a thin layer of chocolate! I think she is wearing more of the frosting than she ate. Makes for a great pic.

Starting this blog

Ok, so I figured I have to start somewhere. I'm going to start with the most important things to me...my family & scrapbooking. Here are some recent pictures of the kids.
This is Nate and Elizabeth. Nate is having a birthday this Friday at the movie theatre to celebrate his 13th birthday! and Saturday Elizabeth turns 1. Where does the time go?
Miss Elizabeth and her beloved binky!! She really likes being out in the yard with the kids. Chasing balls, and pulling flowers keep her busy.
Nate enjoying the breeze from the truck window.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

And Kayla too.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

More pics and scrapbooking to come.
